The Commissioner for youth and sports in the State of Osun, Hon. Yemi Lawal, has engaged some young business owners in Osogbo, the state capital in its continuous bid to support youths in business as well as Small and Medium Scale Entrepreneurs.
In a statement posted on the official Facebook page of the Commissioner, he stated that “Government of Osun through the Ministry of Youth and Sports led by Hon. Yemi Lawal has begun a familiarization tour of businesses run by youths in the state, starting from Osogbo, the State capital.”
“The businesses visited includes: 99 POSH Outfit, Ibraleks_cakes, Omoakinproductions, Bright Imagination and FKreations.
“The purpose of this tour, according to the Commissioner is to create a rapport between the government of the State, the ministry of youth & sport and young business owners to figure out the challenges they are facing in their various businesses and what type of support their business or the sector they operate in requires from the State Government.
“The challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in the area of the ease of doing business has made it necessary for business owners to get encouragement and support from the government.
He further stated that “the aim of the project is to foster a good working relationship between the Government through the Ministry of youths and young entrepreneurs as this would serve as a morale booster and a reminder that Governor Gboyega Oyetola is a youth friendly Governor that would do everything possible to ensure that there is support for youths in their chosen endeavour.”
