If the pace of life in Erin-Ijesa, Oriade Local Government Area of the State of Osun, is typically slow and sedate, the presence of the OGO TUNTUN DEE movement in the town revved things up plenty notches on the 20th of September, 2020. That day, the Chairmanship Aspirant of the All Progressive Congress, Hon. Awotayo Oluwafemi attended the ward meeting of the APC in Erin-Ijesa.

The meeting has further established the massive support the Chairmanship Aspirant for Oriade LGA, Hon. Awotayo Oluwafemi enjoys across the LGA. The enthusiastic party faithfuls that attended the meetings expressed their support for the aspiration of Hon. Awotayo.

In his words, Hon. Awotayo stated that “We must work harmoniously in ensuring that indigenes of the town occupies key leadership positions in the state and in the country. According to him, this quest will bring unprecedented projects and dividend of democracy to the town. He also pleaded with leaders and members of the party and people of the town to never allow the power lust of cynical politicians to set brother against brother”.

The Erin-Ijesa born politician used the meeting to canvass for support towards his aspiration for the Chairmanship seat in Oriade Local Government Area. He effusively stated that if elected, he will create an innovative state and a government of the 21st century. A government that engages its diverse society, encourages participation and creates a partnership towards problems solving.

“I seek a Local Government Area where progressive democratic governance creates the political and economic space needed for each of us to contribute to rescuing and retooling this Local Government Area. I am into politics  to redefine and demystify governance and reconnect with the very ordinary people and politics offers the platform for anyone who believes the ordinary man deserves a better deal” Hon. Awotayo was quoted as saying.

The meeting had in attendance notable APC leaders; Mr Olayinka Ige(aka Olodun) the  ward chairman, Hon. Goke Ajimotokin, Vice Chairman Oriade  Local Government, Loja  Tokunbo Ayeni, APC Local Government Treasurer, Hon Idowu Owoeye, Hon Femi  Awotayo, Hon Adewumi  Awotayo (former councilor), Akogun Abayomi (SA Youth to Ekiti State Governor ), Hon  Babatunde  Toowo,  Chief   Segun Agunbiade, Mrs Bimpe  Olowoyo (Ward women Leader), Prince Wale Ayeni (Ward Youth Leader) amongst others.
