The Apomu Descendants Union has shown its preparedness to assist the government in taking the state’s education sector forward by donating furniture materials worth millions of naira to chosen schools in Apomu as part of the gains of the education policy reversal in Osun.
The Honorable Commissioner for Education, Hon. Folorunso Oladoyin, thanked the donors on behalf of the state government, expressing delight that the education policy reversal is yielding expected results.
While praising the Alapomu of Apomu Kingdom, Oba Kayode Afolabi, for overseeing the gesture, the Commissioner stated that education is not something that the government can handle on its own, but rather requires collaboration from all education stakeholders.
While advising students to take their future seriously, the commissioner advised Apomu pupils to focus on their education in particular so that they might become significant members of society.
In his speech, HRM Oba Kayode Adenekan Afolabi Atoyebi II, Alapomu of Apomu Kingdom, exhorted the kids to be humble and always listen to their professors while in school in order to make success in their future.
The Monarch also advised the students to make good use of the donated products and not to let the country’s predicament deter them from concentrating on their studies because chances could arise at any time in their lives.
In his welcome address, Engr. Soliu Abass, Chairman of the Apomu Descendants Union, thanked the state government for reversing education policies in the state, stating that it will result in a more friendly relationship between the government and education stakeholders.
He did pledge, though, that the furniture materials will be donated in stages to further schools throughout the neighborhood.
